De Coleus is volgens de mazateken familie van salvia divinorum.

Salvia divinorum is, in the minds of the Mazatecs, only the most important of several plants, all Labiatae, that they regard as members of the same "family." Salvia divinorum is known as la hembra, "the female." El macho, or "the male" is Coleus pumila, of European origin. Then there is el nene, "the child," and el ahijado, "the godson," which are both forms of Coleus Blumei. Some Indians insist that these others are likewise psychotropic, but we have not tried them; others say these are merely medicinal.

er is niet veel duidelijkheid over de dosering en effecten van deze plant, de een heeft het over een thee van 70 bladeren terwijl de ander er 20 op eet. de coleus is overigens overal verkrijgbaar omdat het een (mooie) kamerplant is.
Heeft iemand ervaringen hiermee? zoja wat was de dosering, manier van inname en het effect?
ik ben erg benieuwd, ik bel morgen het tuincentrum op of ze hem hebben..

In die pdf over Salvia staat wel een interessant stukje:

The Curandero who brings the leaves first asks the sick person if he is addicted to taking alcohol, because when a man does not take alcohol, fifty leaves are prescribed; when he takes alcohol, then 100 leaves are prescribed.

Ik drink bijna nooit alcohol en heb ook maar heel weinig Salvia nodig voor een heftig effect.


De volgende zin vond ik in een tekst over verschillende soorten Salvia op de site van een online smartshop uit Australie:

A compound known as forskholin extract, isolated from Coleus barbatus (=Coleus forskholii) also in the class of neo-clerodane diterpenoids and having a chemical structure similar to that of Salvinorin A.

Ik heb sinds kort wat mini plantjes van Coleus blumei groeien. Heb zaadjes laten ontkiemen.
Als ze groot genoeg zijn en ik heb de kans gehad om zo'n blad op te kauwen dan kom ik hier nog eens terug.
